Mike Oquaye report has put to an end to propaganda on why we lost - Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the 2024 Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He spoke at the NPP’s national headquarters in Accra on April 23. He discussed the findings of the Mike Oquaye Committee regarding the party's loss in the 2024 elections.

Dr. Bawumia said the report clarifies internal discussions about this loss. It counters propaganda that blamed certain individuals and factions within the party. He stated, “The Mike Oquaye Committee’s work has been thorough and impartial.”

He emphasized that the report puts to rest all misinformation following their electoral defeat. The truth is now clear to every committed party member and Ghanaian, he added.

The committee was chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye. It conducted a post-election review after NPP lost to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in December 2024.

Dr. Bawumia urged party members to support the report's recommendations. He stressed unity and reform as essential for preparing for the future. “This report is not about blame; it is about learning and growing stronger,” he said.

He encouraged rebuilding with courage and honesty, noting that NPP has always overcome challenges. He acknowledged campaign teams and supporters, assuring them their efforts were not in vain.

The NPP’s Thank You Tour will begin later this week. This tour aims to appreciate party faithful and supporters for their dedication during the election campaign.

Dr. Bawumia reiterated his commitment to leading a united NPP ready to reclaim power in 2028. “We are going back to thank them and renew our covenant of service,” he concluded.
