Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has accused the government and the Koforidua High Court of conspiring to harass Akwatia MP Ernest Yaw Kumi following his conviction for contempt.
Kumi was found guilty after defying a court injunction against his swearing-in.
Afenyo-Markin claims National Security operatives were unlawfully deployed to arrest the MP despite a Supreme Court ruling freezing enforcement.
He criticized Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak for defending the move, arguing that court orders must be enforced through legal channels, not security forces.
He further alleged that armed operatives attempted to forcibly detain Kumi in his constituency.
The Minority has vowed to seek legal redress, insisting that the rule of law must prevail.
