Minority criticises omission of 24-Hour Economy Policy in Mahama’s 2025 Budget

Alexander Afenyo-Markin Alexander Afenyo-Markin

The Minority in Parliament has expressed concerns over the absence of the 24-hour economy policy in the Mahama administration’s 2025 budget.

They noted that the initiative was neither addressed in the State of the Nation Address nor included in the government’s policy framework.

During a parliamentary session on March 28, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin questioned the policy’s practicality, stating that while assurances were given, the finance minister failed to outline its details.

He further pointed out that Dr. Forson deferred the discussion of the policy, suggesting its implementation remains uncertain.

Afenyo-Markin concluded that for the 2025 financial year, the 24-hour economy policy appears to have been abandoned.
