Mpraeso MP: NDC deserves no applause for fulfilling manifesto promises

Mpraeso MP Davis Ansah Opoku has dismissed calls for praise towards the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for simply fulfilling its manifesto pledges.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, Opoku argued that delivering on campaign promises is a duty, not an achievement.

He pointed to the appointment of 60 ministers—outlined in the NDC manifesto—as an example, stressing that real success should be measured by economic stability and improved living conditions.

According to him, policies like stabilizing the cedi and addressing “bread and butter” issues matter more to Ghanaians than routine government commitments.

While acknowledging initiatives such as the Gold Board and E-Levy abolition, Opoku urged patience before assessing their true impact, cautioning against premature praise or criticism.
