My appointment was competence-based – Dumelo

Deputy Agric Minister John Dumelo says his appointment is based on competence.

He believes President Mahama recognized his hands-on experience in agriculture.

Dumelo will work alongside Hon Eric Opoku to improve the sector.

“President Mahama trusts my experience; this partnership will yield positive results,” he stated.

He noted that the president ensures all ministers have relevant experience.

This approach avoids placing unqualified individuals in key positions.

“When you look at the ministers appointed by President Mahama, they all have relevant backgrounds,” he explained.

The president made wise choices when appointing his ministers.

Dumelo emphasized that he must remain dedicated and prove his worth as deputy minister.
