Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, the Director of Legal Affairs for the NDC, has raised concerns about a leaked memo. This memo is related to the legal case against Mr. Kwabena Adu Boahene, former head of the Signals Bureau.
Mr. Tamakloe stated that Mr. Boahene wrote the memo for the National Security Coordinator. It was meant to explain spending decisions during his time in office. He emphasized that this document was not meant for public release.
Mr. Tamakloe shared his concerns in a Facebook post on May 13, 2025. The leaked memo has sparked questions about state communication confidentiality and investigative integrity.
Mr. Samuel Atta Akyea, Mr. Boahene's lawyer, commented on the situation. He said his client submitted the memo to inform the current National Security Coordinator. The goal was to encourage engagement with the Attorney-General and EOCO.
He argued that pursuing criminal charges without understanding Mr. Boaheneās context is problematic. In recent news, EOCO has reportedly rearrested Mr. Boahene over procurement issues related to a network system for Ghana Water Company Limited.
Mr. Tamakloe called for transparency and due process in this matter. He also demanded an investigation into how sensitive documents became public. Such leaks could harm fair trial rights and erode public trust in state institutions.
