NDC annuls Amenfi Central primary, orders rerun on September 8

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has annulled the May 13, 2023, parliamentary primary for the Amenfi Central constituency.

The decision, announced by the party's General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, follows a High Court case in Sekondi where plaintiffs sought the annulment of the election results.

The NDC's Functional Executive Committee, after meeting on September 3, 2024, resolved to rerun the election.

Fresh nominations will open on September 6, 2024, with filing, vetting, and appeals happening the following day.

The re-election is scheduled for Sunday, September 8, 2024.
