NDC cleansing a rotten foundation – Gbande

Mustapha Gbande is the Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency. He spoke about the current government under the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Gbande said they inherited a flawed system from the previous administration. He described it as having poor leadership, criminality, and corruption.

Gbande shared his thoughts on TV3's Hot Issues on April 20, 2025. He painted a clear picture of what the NDC faced when taking office. “The foundation we have is deficit of leadership and credibility,” he stated. He emphasized that they want to clean up these issues.

Reflecting on their first 100 days in office, Gbande noted high-profile crimes in the media. He argued this is not a sign of worsening security. Instead, it shows a more transparent system tackling wrongdoing.

“100 days into office, today you are seeing crimes that you never saw in the last 8 years,” he explained. These crimes were previously hidden from public view.

Gbande highlighted that there is now a security force combating crime effectively. They are addressing politically motivated crimes, money laundering, cocaine activities, and cybersecurity issues.

He claimed such crimes existed under President Akufo-Addo but were concealed. “These are things you would not have heard of them under President Akufo-Addo,” he said. Now, he insists they are actively fighting these problems.
