The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a comprehensive directive to guide the selection and appointment of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).

Following a presidential directive on January 2, 2025, the party aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and inclusivity in the vetting and selection process.

According to a statement signed by NDC General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, all regional chairmen and secretaries have been instructed to establish Regional Vetting Committees.

These committees will oversee the vetting process, ensuring only qualified, competent, and constitutionally eligible individuals are considered.

The directive also highlights key criteria for candidate selection, including proof of NDC membership, adherence to the constitutional eligibility outlined in Article 94(3)(c) of Ghana's 1992 Constitution, diversity and geographical balance, and demonstrated competence and experience.

The NDC is calling for full cooperation from all regional leaders to ensure strict adherence to these guidelines.
