NDC lies about my involvement in Bawku conflict caused our abysmal performance in Bawku-Bawumia

Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has addressed the Bawku conflict.

He claims the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lied about him during the 2024 elections.

They accused him of buying weapons for one faction to kill the Kusasis. This claim was false and damaging.

Dr. Bawumia noted that many believed this lie, affecting NPP votes in 2024.

However, he believes the people of Bawku now see the truth. They understand he had no role in the conflict.

He stated, “Unfortunately, the NDC used this conflict for political gain. They falsely claimed I bought weapons for Mamprusis to kill Kusasis. That was a huge lie that angered many.”

Dr. Bawumia added that only God can make things right. He believes people in Bawku now realize they were misled by the NDC.

He mentioned that NDC MPs from Bawku are struggling to return home due to their lies about him.

“They are facing backlash and are reluctant to go back,” he said.

The former flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party feels vindicated now. He believes if elections were held today, results would differ from 2024.
