NEIP CEO Explores Partnerships in Ohio to Boost Ghanaian Entrepreneurship Ecosystem

Mr. Eric Adjei, CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), visited Columbus, Ohio. He was part of a high-level government delegation. Their goal was to build partnerships and attract investment for Ghana's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Mr. Vincent Ohene-Ntow, NEIP's Director for Business Support and Development, joined him. The visit aimed to support homegrown innovations in Ghana. They focused on addressing key developmental challenges in the country.

Discussions covered several important areas:

1. Innovation Hub Development: Strengthening hubs to support start-up growth.

2. Modernized Agriculture: Encouraging youth participation in agricultural initiatives.

3. Exchange Programs: Facilitating knowledge transfer between Ghana and the U.S.

4. Access to Funding: Improving funding opportunities for emerging businesses.

The delegation emphasized President John Mahama's commitment to entrepreneurship through "The Adwumawura Programme." They highlighted the importance of international collaboration in achieving this vision.

They invited development partners and investors to help build a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem for Ghanaian youth. "The Adwumawura Programme" aims to create 10,000 youth-led businesses each year.

This initiative reflects a national agenda to empower young innovators and entrepreneurs in Ghana. It fulfills the NDC campaign promise of prioritizing youth empowerment and job creation.

In its first phase, the programme will support the top 2,000 business proposals with:

- Business Development Training: Teaching essential skills for success.

- Mentorship: Connecting young entrepreneurs with experienced leaders.

- Access to Start-up Capital: Providing financial support for business ideas.

- Marketing and Networking: Helping entrepreneurs showcase their products and connect with customers.

The programme is expected to significantly impact Ghana’s economy by creating jobs and promoting innovation among young people. By supporting these businesses, "AdwumaWura" will contribute to economic growth in the country.
