Jones Nyamesem, a spokesperson for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a warning. He cautioned former government officials about the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) political traps.
On Wontumi’s morning show, Nyamesem targeted former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta. He believes the NDC is trying to undermine former appointees from the previous administration.
Nyamesem urged these individuals to stay vigilant. He advised them to avoid any engagement with the NDC. “They are setting traps, and former appointees must not take the bait,” he said.
He specifically encouraged Ofori-Atta to focus on his health. Ofori-Atta is currently undergoing medical treatment and facing political pressures.
Nyamesem also questioned the credibility of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP). He stated that it has not produced significant results. “The Special Prosecutor has nothing to show up,” he claimed.
This warning comes amid high-profile arrests targeting NPP members. Recently, Adenta Kumi, a party activist, was detained. NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, faces legal challenges related to party activities.
Additionally, Ken Ofori-Atta is involved in a pending case for alleged financial misconduct during his time as Finance Minister.
Nyamesem’s comments reflect a tense political atmosphere. The ruling NDC government is intensifying investigations into figures from the previous administration. The NPP views this as a witch hunt aimed at crippling political opponents before upcoming elections.
