Mohammed Zakou, an NPP activist, has been granted bail by the Achimota Circuit Court following his arrest for allegedly spreading false information about the death of Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
Zakou, who posted a message on Facebook claiming "Rest Well Her Excellency" with crying emojis, was charged with communicating false news. He admitted to the post but clarified it was a goodwill gesture due to the Vice President’s reported illness.
The court set his bail at GH¢100,000 with two sureties and required him to report weekly to the investigator.
The next case management conference will take place on May 12.
