The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has attributed its landslide defeat in the December 2024 elections to spiritual influences.
General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua described unexplained low voter turnout among NPP supporters nationwide, suggesting a supernatural dimension to the outcome.
Speaking on Ashh FM, he lamented the withdrawal of spiritual backing from pastors who traditionally intercede for the party, citing internal tensions as the cause.
Prominent prophet Rev. Owusu Bempah had earlier predicted the NPP's defeat, claiming spiritual forces would ensure their downfall.
His prophecy materialized as John Mahama of the NDC won with 56.55% of votes, defeating Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's 41.61%. The NDC also claimed a parliamentary majority, securing 183 seats to the NPP's 88.
