Outgoing Majority Leader and MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has warned the incoming NDC government against nominating a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Effutu.
Addressing party supporters, he emphasized that the NPP controls the area due to its dominance in the local Assembly.
Afenyo-Markin declared, “We are the government in Effutu,” citing the NPP's hold on all Assembly seats and the Presiding Member.
He assured supporters that the NPP would resist any attempts to appoint an MCE, drawing applause.
Effutu remains a stronghold for the NPP, with Afenyo-Markin securing the parliamentary seat since defeating NDC's Mike Allen Hammah in 2013.
If the NDC is dreaming of doing business with NPP, they should forget it. Even when they are dead , they feel alive . Here is Afenyo Markin threatening to shutdown an NDC Government . They are who they are! Smile to them at your own risk! pic.twitter.com/BhpaupC8sH
