The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has attributed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss in the 2024 general election to its failure to effectively communicate the challenges it faced during its tenure.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, Mr. Assafuah acknowledged that governance issues significantly impacted the party’s popularity. He praised President Akufo-Addo but admitted that some decisions made by the president and his appointees did not resonate well with Ghanaians.

“John Mahama promised to cancel the E-Levy and Betting Tax within 120 days, but fulfilling such promises isn’t simple without causing fiscal imbalances,” he stated, emphasizing that the NPP failed to adequately explain the nation’s challenges.
