NPP hasn't lived up to expectations yet, they should wake up from defeat and act right - Quashie

Mr. Benjamin Kofi Quashie is the Chair of the NDC Council of Elders in South Africa. He criticized the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) performance. He believes their work is not up to standard. He urged them to improve to help reset the country.

Mr. Quashie shared his views on Joy News' Newspaper Review show on April 24, 2024. He stated, "Honestly, the NPP is not there yet." This comment referred to their shocking defeat in the 2024 elections. He expects them to recover soon.

Regarding the Minority's performance, he noted mixed results. Some members have done well, while others have been disappointing. He praised Kojo Oppong Nkrumah for his brilliant suggestions worth considering.

However, he criticized Ntim Fordjour's emotional response during a recent issue. This reaction has harmed the Minority's image. Mr. Quashie questioned whether they are truly vibrant as they claim.

He mentioned that he spoke with Mr. Sammy Gyamfi about incorporating minority suggestions into policies. He emphasized that national policies should not follow a "winner takes all" mentality like the NPP does.

He called for a shift in how national resources are managed, especially gold. Listening to Dr. Bawumia and inviting all party leaders on his 'thank you tour' is a positive step.

In conclusion, Mr. Quashie believes a vibrant opposition is essential for progress. It will keep the ruling government accountable in delivering its reset agenda.
