The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has started disciplinary action against Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah. He is the Deputy Director of Communications. The party claims he breached internal directives with his social media comments.
In a statement, General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong expressed concern over Mr. Bempah's remarks. These comments allegedly violated a recent directive. This directive urges all members to avoid public commentary that could cause disaffection within the party.
The directive, labeled NPP/HQ/PR/2025/03/DAM, aims to maintain internal cohesion and discipline during the political season. The statement noted that Mr. Owusu Bempah made several social media comments suspected of violating these rules.
As a result, he has been referred to the NPP’s National Disciplinary Committee for investigation and action. The party leadership stressed its commitment to discipline and unity. They warned that similar breaches by any member will be addressed according to party rules.
The outcome of this disciplinary process is expected in the coming weeks.
