Andy Appiah-Kubi, the outgoing MP for Asante Akim North, has recounted harrowing experiences following his involvement in the #KenMustGo campaign, which called for the resignation of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta amid Ghana's economic crisis.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Upfront, he revealed that his advocacy, supported by 80 NPP MPs, resulted in political backlash, including an alleged poisoning incident that nearly claimed his life.
Appiah-Kubi described attempts to transfer him from his hospital to Accra, a move his wife opposed to ensure his safety. He credited his survival to divine intervention and support from U.S. institutions.
The MP, now more cautious, attributed his ailment to poisoning, warning of the dangers of challenging party leadership. He also blamed President Akufo-Addo's stance for the NPP's electoral defeat.
