The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to deliver a “True State of the Nation Address” on March 4, 2025, challenging President John Mahama’s recent address.
In a February 28 statement, the NPP criticized Mahama’s February 27 SONA for allegedly misrepresenting Ghana’s state and omitting key issues such as power shortages, rising insecurity, illegal mining, and unemployment.
Led by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the NPP’s address aims to provide what they call a factual and objective assessment of Ghana’s trajectory since Mahama took office on January 7.
The party maintains that Ghanaians deserve a more accurate evaluation of national challenges and government performance.
