Kwame Owusu Danso, the running mate for the Movement for Change in 2024, has described Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen's departure from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a "curse."
Danso attributes the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections to former President Akufo-Addo’s decision to choose Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over Kyerematen as the party's flagbearer.
Danso stated that Nana Addo had promised Kyerematen he would succeed him after his presidency, but failed to fulfill this commitment, leading to Kyerematen's exit. "Alan agreed to let Nana lead and then take over, but Nana Addo disappointed him," he explained.
Danso also urged Ghanaians to be patient as the new government works to restore hope in the economy, which he said has been severely damaged over the past eight years. He emphasized that rebuilding the economy would take time, likening it to restoring a collapsed building.
Finally, Danso reaffirmed the Movement for Change’s commitment to bringing transformation to Ghana.
