Chairman of Parliament’s Defence Committee, James Agalga, has defended the performance of National Security, urging the Minority to acknowledge their efforts rather than criticize them.
His remarks follow concerns from the Minority over a perceived rise in drug trafficking and money laundering since the NDC took office.
They cited an unresolved raid on 12 containers of gold and cash at Sapeiman, Accra, and accused National Security of lacking transparency in its investigations.
Speaking on Eyewitness News, Agalga dismissed the criticisms, emphasizing that security agencies have been effective in combating crime. He pointed to a recent interception of $350 million worth of cocaine as proof of their success.
He warned that constant negativity could demoralize hardworking security personnel and urged Ghanaians to recognize their efforts in tackling illicit activities.
