New Rent Act needs amendments – Housing Minister

The Minister for Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has announced that his firm is revising the new Rent Act before presenting it to Parliament.

The amendments aim to regulate rental prices, prevent landlord exploitation, and include the introduction of a Rent Magistrate to enforce regulations.

Additionally, the bill will address regulations for hostel facilities to ensure they meet standards and are fairly priced.

These changes are part of the government's effort to enhance housing affordability and fairness.
