President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a lean government by announcing he will not appoint deputy ministers for certain ministries.
This move aligns with his campaign promise to limit the cabinet to 60 ministers.
Speaking at the swearing-in of six new ministers on January 22, 2025, at Jubilee House, President Mahama emphasized his aim to create an efficient and streamlined government.
“This will make this government the leanest and most efficient in Ghana’s history,” he noted.
The first batch of sworn-in ministers includes Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson (Finance), Dr. Dominic Ayine (Attorney General), John Jinapor (Energy), Governs Agbodza (Roads), Eric Opoku (Agriculture), and Haruna Iddrisu (Education).
