No amount of intimidation can change Vormawor’s bribery allegations against Parliamentary Appointments – Nabla

Janet Nabla Janet Nabla

Janet Nabla, Chairperson and Leader of the People’s National Party (PNP), has addressed ongoing allegations of bribery in parliamentary appointments, asserting that such claims are not new in Ghana's 4th Republic.

She highlighted frequent accusations that individuals seeking parliamentary approval have bribed MPs to secure their positions.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on January 29, 2025, Nabla emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the bribery claims raised by Oliver Barker-Vormawor.

Nabla further critiqued the financial influence of businessmen over MPs, noting that both the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) rely on business funding, which often leads lawmakers to prioritize their financiers' interests over those of ordinary Ghanaians.

She condemned the practice of businessmen paying “facilitation fees” to MPs, calling it an unethical manipulation that benefits the rich at the expense of the public.
