‘No running away’ – Akufo-Addo urges ex-appointees to face accountability

Nana Akufo-Addo Nana Akufo-Addo

Former President Nana Akufo-Addo has directed his former appointees to remain available for any accountability processes following the end of his administration, according to NPP Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah.

Speaking on Joy News on February 18, Ahiagbah stressed the party’s commitment to transparency, stating, “We [the NPP] have no record of running away.”

His remarks follow growing public calls for accountability, especially after the Office of the Special Prosecutor removed ex-Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta from its wanted list.

Ahiagbah assured that NPP officials would not evade scrutiny, contrasting this with past NDC administrations.

He maintained that history would judge the Akufo-Addo government fairly, as the party focuses on preparing for the 2028 elections.
