Richard Ahiagbah, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized President John Dramani Mahama. He described Mahama’s first 120 days in office as a setback for Ghana.
In an interview on Eyewitness News with Sammi Wiafe, Ahiagbah questioned Mahama's policy impact. He claimed that challenges for Ghanaians have worsened under Mahama's leadership. "Since he became President, what problems has he solved?" he asked.
Ahiagbah accused the Mahama administration of failing to fulfill key promises. He specifically mentioned job creation and reducing living costs. "The cost of living has worsened since he took office," he stated.
He noted that unemployment has increased despite campaign promises to create jobs. "Where are the jobs for young people?" he asked.
Ahiagbah also criticized the 24-hour economy initiative, calling it a “scam.” He said there is no visible implementation so far. "We told Ghanaians this is a scam," he added.
He further claimed that “dumsor” has returned and alleged pressure on the judiciary. Ahiagbah concluded that Mahama’s governance has had negative effects overall.
"We cannot point to any tangible outcome; 'dumsor' is back," he said. He believes that Mahama's first 120 days have resulted in a net loss for Ghana.
