Former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has described President John Mahama’s Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee as a dangerous precedent.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, he stated that while it is too early to fully assess Mahama’s presidency, the establishment of ORAL before Mahama’s swearing-in was problematic, as executive authority was not yet in his hands.
He questioned the committee’s legitimacy, arguing that looting is a criminal offense that must be determined by a court of law.
He also emphasized that the constitution protects the right to own property and accused ORAL of making unproven allegations.
Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu believes such accusations amount to defamation and warned against using political power to undermine legal processes.
