The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially named former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as a suspect in four major corruption investigations, including the National Cathedral project and dealings with Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML).
At a press briefing on February 12, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng declared Ofori-Atta a wanted person, ordering him to return to Ghana for questioning.
He warned that failure to comply would lead to legal measures to compel his return.
Agyebeng also dismissed claims that Ofori-Atta had left the country for medical reasons, accusing him of staging a fake raid on his residence to mislead the public.
The OSP’s action signals a major crackdown on alleged financial misconduct among former government officials.
