Defence Minister-designate Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has pledged to enhance mental health support for Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) personnel, addressing PTSD and training more specialists.
During his vetting, he also committed to equipping military hospitals, completing the Afari Military Hospital, and tackling the GAF’s housing deficit.
Dr. Boamah vowed to uphold strict recruitment standards, prevent infiltration by unqualified individuals, and ensure regional balance.
He emphasized strengthening Ghana’s security with forward operating bases, re-equipping the Air Force and Navy, and fostering military-police cooperation through joint training.
