Our comeback requires having open arms to all – Bawumia to NPP

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President, is the NPP's 2024 flagbearer. He urged his party to embrace all Ghanaians for a political resurgence.

On Thursday, May 8, he spoke in the Volta Region during the NPP’s Thank You Tour. Dr. Bawumia emphasized unity and inclusivity as key to the party’s revival strategy.

At Hohoe, he reflected on lessons from the December 2024 election defeat. He noted that rebuilding trust requires a broad approach. “Our comeback requires having open arms to all,” he declared.

He stressed reaching out to every Ghanaian, regardless of region or background. The NPP should be a home for national progress, not narrow interests.

Dr. Bawumia proposed forming regional liaison committees. These committees would engage local stakeholders and relay their concerns to party leaders. “Every voice must be heard,” he explained.

He also highlighted grassroots mobilization efforts. Party members should increase door-to-door outreach and listen closely to constituents’ needs.

In closing, he thanked supporters in the Volta Region for their resilience. He encouraged them to become ambassadors of this new inclusive vision. “With unity and open arms, we will transform our setback into a powerful comeback,” he affirmed as delegates gave him a standing ovation.
