Parliament has confirmed the appointment of three ministerial nominees put forward by President John Mahama after their vetting by the Appointments Committee.
During a session on Thursday, January 23, presided over by Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako, both the Majority and Minority caucuses debated the qualifications of the nominees before unanimously endorsing their capabilities to lead.
The approved nominees include Ahmed Ibrahim, MP for Banda, as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs; Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, MP for Krowor, as Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection; and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, MP for Techiman North, as Minister for Trade, Industry and Agribusiness.
The decision followed hours of deliberation, with both sides of the House acknowledging the competence and experience of the nominees for their respective roles.
