Parliament begins debate on 2025 Budget tomorrow

Parliament is set to commence debate on the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy from Tuesday, March 18, to Monday, March 24, 2025.

Deputy Majority Leader George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan announced the schedule while presenting the Business Statement for the week on behalf of Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga.

The debate follows Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson’s budget presentation last week. Time allotments include 45 minutes each for the Majority and Minority Leaders, 30 minutes for other leaders, and five minutes for MPs.

To expedite proceedings, Parliament will hold extended sittings and commence Monday sessions from March 24.

Ministers from various sectors will also appear before the House to answer 24 questions. Additionally, new bills and committee reports may be presented for consideration.
