Parliament resumes today after a two-month recess

Parliament will reconvene today, Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

This follows a two-month recess.

It marks the Second Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, issued a formal summons.

This was done according to Order 58 of the Standing Orders.

The order requires that Members of Parliament (MPs) be notified about resuming sittings.

The Speaker's directive ensures all MPs are informed and ready to work.

As lawmakers return, they will discuss important national issues.

They will also review and pass legislation and examine reports from committees.

Key agenda items include economic policy and governance reforms.

MPs will receive updates from the Executive as well.

They are set to continue their oversight and law-making duties in the chamber.
