Paul Afotey Quaye receives unanimous endorsement as Krowor MCE amidst some mixed reactions

Paul Afotey Quaye has been confirmed as the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Krowor Municipal Assembly. He received a 100% endorsement from all Assembly Members.

All 19 eligible voters supported Quaye's nomination. This group included 11 elected members, six appointees, the Member of Parliament, and the outgoing MCE. Their unanimous vote shows strong confidence in his leadership.

The confirmation ceremony took place at the GNAT Conference Hall in Nungua. It was both triumphant and emotional for those present. In his acceptance speech, Quaye promised to focus on development, youth employment, and social cohesion.

He urged residents to unite and assured stakeholders of his commitment to improving living standards. However, not everyone supported him. Traditional leaders from the Amafra area boycotted the ceremony in protest against his appointment.

Their absence led to a lower turnout at the event. This boycott raises concerns about potential tensions between Quaye and some traditional authorities. During his speech, Quaye became emotional while acknowledging MP Agnes Naa Momo Lartey.

This moment highlighted the weight of responsibility he feels and his dedication to serving the community. Despite the boycott by Amafra chiefs, Quaye's unanimous support positions him well for his new role.

He now faces challenges in bridging divides within the municipality. His leadership will focus on transparency, collaboration, and progress for all residents.
