Former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has raised concerns over the growing monetization of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) internal structures, stating that the party has become a "money-making machine."
Speaking on findings from a fact-finding report on the party’s electoral performance in the Ashanti Region, he highlighted that excessive influence of money in internal elections has fueled voter apathy and division.
He called for a major overhaul of the delegate system, suggesting that all registered NPP members should have voting rights instead of a select group.
The report also attributed NPP’s electoral decline to leadership concerns under former President Akufo-Addo, internal divisions, and the flawed selection of party executives.
