President-elect John Dramani Mahama has criticized Ghana's political elites, including himself, for abusing the trust of the electorate with arrogance and selfishness.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Ringway Gospel Center on December 15, Mahama emphasized that power is a temporary gift from God, not a personal entitlement.
Reflecting on the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) defeat in the 2024 elections, Mahama said it underscores the electorate's power to vote out unsatisfactory leaders. He warned his government to avoid similar pitfalls by serving Ghanaians with humility and dedication.
Mahama also cautioned party supporters seeking appointments, stating he will only work with those committed to diligent and humble service, urging others to reconsider their intentions if they lack the resolve to prioritize the nation.
