Kwame Sarpong Asiedu, a research fellow at CDD-Ghana, has accused outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo of labeling incomplete structures as hospitals without adequate medical resources.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Asiedu argued that hospitals lacking beds and healthcare professionals cannot function effectively.
He noted Ghana’s limited doctor-to-patient ratio, particularly in teaching and regional hospitals, despite having sufficient trained nurses who remain unemployed due to financial constraints.
Asiedu criticized the government's plans to build 110 hospitals requiring GH₵7.5 billion, which he says the country cannot afford.
He accused officials of presenting conflicting data in government reports to mislead the public.
