President Mahama to unveil code of conduct for appointees today

President John Dramani Mahama will unveil a new Code of Conduct today. This event is scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2025. It aims to strengthen ethical governance in his administration's 120-day Social Contract.

The announcement came from Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister in Charge of Government Communications. He shared this news on Facebook on Sunday, May 4, 2025. The minister called this week a defining moment for the government's reform agenda.

The Code of Conduct was first introduced during the swearing-in of ministers. It provides clear ethical guidelines for public officials. The goal is to eliminate confusion about public service roles and reinforce transparency and accountability.

“This week marks a crucial milestone in President Mahama’s Social Contract,” the minister stated. He emphasized that it begins with unveiling a strict Code of Conduct for all appointees. This will ensure transparency and accountability in government.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve governance and fight corruption. The new code will serve as a standard framework across all government sectors. It will guide appointees in their duties.

President Mahama has stressed that the code will outline clear dos and don’ts for public service. This effort aims to foster discipline and ethical leadership within his administration.
