Prof Opoku-Agyemang used a private jet because Ghana’s Presidential Jet is unfit for use—Omane Boamah

Ghana's defense minister has announced that the president and vice president will use a private jet for travel. This is because the presidential jet is in poor condition.

He stated that the previous government left the jet in an unacceptable state. It requires maintenance to be suitable for use. The fuel tank, for example, is corroded.

Dr. Omane Boamah mentioned that the presidential jet is currently abroad. It is undergoing overhaul and maintenance to make it functional again.

In a social media post, he said, "Akufo-Addo's administration ran down the Presidential jet." He added that it may take three months of repairs before it is usable again.

Currently, the presidential jet is unfit for use.
