Rubber-stamping, partisanship eroding trust in Parliament - Save Ghana Movement

The Save Ghana Movement is disappointed with current Members of Parliament. They accuse MPs of failing to meet the trust placed in them by voters.

In an interview with Fabea FM, founder Robert Andzie Ansah expressed his concerns. He criticized MPs for prioritizing party loyalty over national progress. He called their actions “petty politics” that ignore Ghanaians' real needs.

“The people elected them to serve, not to rubber-stamp decisions,” Ansah said. He noted that MPs show blind support for party lines and lack accountability.

This behavior has led to public disillusionment with Parliament. Ansah believes the chamber focuses more on political survival than public service.

The Save Ghana Movement calls for dissolving and restructuring Parliament. They argue a fresh start is needed to restore integrity and purpose.

“We must rebuild an institution that truly serves the people,” Ansah stated. He emphasized that leaders should prioritize Ghana over their political futures.

He also criticized opposition parties for using their minority status as an excuse. “We have young and energetic MPs who can make a difference,” he said, urging them to rise above political gamesmanship.

Ansah encouraged Ghanaians to reject divisive politics and focus on national development. “Being in opposition does not mean saying no to everything,” he explained. It means being constructive and working for the people’s interests.
