The Minister for Communications, Sam Nartey George, has called on Parliament to review CCTV footage to identify the MP who allegedly referred to Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings as the “daughter of a murderer” during proceedings.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Newsfile on February 8, 2025, Sam George condemned the remark, insisting that Parliament must investigate and hold the culprit accountable.
He noted that the voice came from a section of the House “behind Afenyo” and suggested that CCTV footage would help pinpoint the offender.
The comment has sparked widespread outrage, with accusations directed at Bosome Freho MP Kofi Adusei and Damongo MP Samuel Abu Jinapor. However, both have denied making the remark.
Sam George criticised Parliament’s double standards, arguing that MPs were quick to summon individuals for lesser offenses but hesitant to act in this case.
He urged the House to set an example by ensuring accountability, noting that the Privileges Committee has the authority to impose sanctions, including an apology or suspension.
