The Ghana Card-enabled E-gate at Kotoka International Airport faced a hiccup during its inauguration when it failed to open immediately for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who was the first to use it.
After waiting several minutes, the gate eventually unlocked, prompting Ningo-Prampram MP Sam George to mock Dr. Bawumia on Twitter.
George questioned whether the system had been properly tested before its launch, suggesting that rushing such a project leads to problems.
The incident sparked debate online, with some downplaying the issue as a minor glitch, while others raised concerns about the system's readiness.
Despite the mishap, supporters remain optimistic that the E-gate will be beneficial once fully optimized.
