Sam George sacks about 100 Ghana Post staff; says over 600 were employed after Dec 7

Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has announced a review of nearly 600 staff recruited into the ministry and its agencies after the December 7, 2024, elections, with close to 100 already dismissed.

At a press conference in Parliament on March 25, 2025, he revealed authorizing the termination of almost 100 workers at Ghana Post as part of a staff rationalization exercise.

Calling the recruitment situation "untenable," he stressed the need to streamline the ministry for efficiency.

Mr. George emphasized that all cases will be carefully reviewed to ensure fair administrative decisions. The restructuring aims to reduce excess staff and enhance operational efficiency across the ministry and its affiliated agencies.
