Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George, has announced plans to form an inter-ministerial committee to address the high cost of data in Ghana.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile, he said the Communications Ministry has already been directed to begin the process, and the committee will be set up within 14 days.
Sam George assured Ghanaians that data prices will drop before the year ends. He stressed that his policies will be based on engagement with telecom operators and industry regulators.
He revealed that he had already consulted telecom CEOs to secure their support before making the announcement.
He described his leadership as a reset for Ghana’s digital economy, promising a collaborative approach to making data more affordable.
