Sammy Gyamfi Must Face Probe For Dollar Gift to Agradaa – Minority

The Minority in Parliament has called for the suspension of Sammy Gyamfi. He is the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD). This follows a viral video showing him giving money to evangelist Nana Agradaa.

On May 12, 2025, Dr. Kabiru Tia Mahama addressed the media. He is the Member of Parliament for Walewale and part of the Finance Committee. He stated that Gyamfi's actions violate public service ethics and laws.

Dr. Mahama said, “The minority are calling for his immediate suspension.” He noted that this action breaches both the Forex Exchange Act and the Currency Act.

He emphasized that Gyamfi, as a lawyer, knows the law well. “He cannot plead ignorance,” Dr. Mahama added. “He understands clearly the consequences of this action.”

The Minority also wants an investigation into where the dollar bills came from. “We call for a full investigation into their source,” he said.

In response to public outrage, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has summoned Gyamfi for an explanation. Despite his public apology, pressure is mounting on him to resign.

Calls are growing louder for a thorough investigation into this incident. The situation remains tense as both Parliament and the public demand accountability.
