The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused Sammy Gyamfi of flaunting wealth. He is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board. The accusation follows a video showing him giving U.S. dollars to Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, known as Nana Agradaa.
The NPP claims this behavior shows troubling extravagance for a government appointee. They allege that Gyamfi regularly uses U.S. dollars instead of the Ghana cedi.
At a press conference, NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye expressed these concerns. He noted that Gyamfi's actions were particularly concerning after only 120 days in office.
On the day of the video, Gyamfi was driven in a 2025 Range Rover Autobiography worth $350,000. Boakye criticized the lavish benefits Gyamfi receives as CEO of the Gold Board.
He stated it is unethical for Gyamfi to enjoy such perks while lacking confidence in the Ghana cedi. This situation represents a betrayal of public trust, according to Boakye.
Calls for Sammy Gyamfi’s suspension have been deemed baseless by Titus Beyuo.
