Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong has denied claims about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He said Bawumia is not linked to the security guard who stabbed a KNUST student in Kumasi.
Agyapong explained that the attacker is part of Ali Suraj's security team. This security detail joined the team specifically in Kumasi. They have not been involved in other tours across the country.
He shared an incident where a friend gave students Ghc 1000 to share. When they received the money, one of Ali Suraj's guards took it from them. The students argued, and the guards fired warning shots to intimidate them.
Agyapong emphasized that the person who stabbed the student was brought by Ali Suraj. He knows Bawumia's security well and has spoken with them during their tour.
He noted that only in Kumasi did Ali Suraj bring these guards, which harmed the party's reputation. Agyapong mentioned he knows Ali Suraj from America but questioned his role within the party in Ghana.
