Suhuyini: Mahama determined to leave a legacy of impact

Hamza Suhuyini, a member of the NDC communication team, spoke confidently about President John Dramani Mahama. He believes Mahama is focused on building a lasting legacy. This legacy will be defined by purpose, integrity, and respect from all, including political opponents.

Suhuyini made these comments ahead of Mahama’s national address on May 7. The president is expected to update the nation on his administration's performance under the 120-day social contract. Suhuyini criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its ineptitude and internal issues.

He stated that even in opposition, the NPP shows legendary incompetence. He pointed out their recent internal management problems as evidence of this incompetence. Suhuyini highlighted the arrogance and vigilantism that have affected Ghana's politics.

In an interview on Breakfast Daily with Channel One TV, he praised Mahama’s character and leadership qualities. He described Mahama as respected across political lines. “We have a president whom even leading NPP members respect,” he said.

Suhuyini acknowledged that not all national challenges can be solved in 120 days. However, he emphasized Mahama's commitment to fulfilling his mandate. “We are dealing with a leader who wants to leave a legacy,” he affirmed.

Since taking office, President Mahama has implemented several notable reforms. These include removing key taxes like the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) and Betting Tax. Suhuyini noted these changes aim to ease economic burdens and promote responsive governance.
