Supreme Court unanimously dismisses Torkornoo’s injunction application

The Supreme Court has dismissed an injunction application from Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo. She sought to stop a presidential committee investigating her removal.

Justice Torkornoo filed the application on May 21, 2025. She asked the court for an injunction against the six-member committee set up by President John Mahama. The aim was to prevent any inquiries until the main case is resolved.

Court documents show that she wanted Justices Gabriel Scott Pwamang and Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu disqualified. She also sought to bar other committee members from participating in the investigation.

On May 28, 2025, the Supreme Court unanimously dismissed her application. A full written ruling will be available on June 12, 2025.

This decision is significant in the ongoing legal battle over Justice Torkornoo's suspension. It raises important constitutional questions. More updates will follow soon.
